Private ADHD TitrationThere is a national shortage of medications to treat ADHD symptoms. This is due to manufacturing problems and the growing demand for ADHD medications worldwide.Our service offers private ADHD adjustment instead of waiting for NHS funding via Right to Choose. Our assessment fees cover the cost of a single prescription.TitrationA comprehensive assessment of your ADHD symptoms will be carried out by an experienced consultant Psychiatrist. This will include an examination of your medical history as well as an assessment using the typical ADHD rating scales and questionnaires.After your examination, you will be informed that medication may be beneficial for your specific situation. This will be discussed during your follow-up appointment (which may be scheduled in person, by video link, or over the phone). Your doctor will go over the various medication options available. If you decide to begin medication, we will offer you the opportunity to increase your dosage to optimize the benefits/side-effects balance for you.This is a process which could take a few weeks. It requires adjusting your child’s dosage gradually until the appropriate balance is achieved. It is important that parents participate in the titration and keep an eye out for their child’s behavior, so they can inform the doctor whether the medication is helping or causing adverse reactions.If you decide to return to NHS treatment you will receive an individual prescription for your medication. You will have to pay for your prescription at the pharmacy. This is not included in the consultation cost. You will be required to attend six monthly appointments to monitor your medication, which includes pulse and blood pressure readings. Annual exams are also required.Follow-up appointmentsAfter the assessment is complete and you are satisfied, you can schedule appointment with the psychiatrist. The appointment usually takes place through a video call using zoom but in certain circumstances it might be possible to schedule an audio-only consultation (again at an extra cost).At this point we will discuss any treatment options and come up with a unique ADHD medication titration program.
