Part-Time Fire Maintenance Technician

for Melbourne Fire and Electrical – Melbourne

Job Description

We are a small and busy fire testing business requiring a motivated technician to attend to routine servicing of fire equipment throughout the Melbourne CBD and suburban areas. We would prefer an experienced technician, however for the right person we would be prepared to offer training as required.

This work involves the following duties:

Inspection and testing of:

Fixed fire equipment
Portable Extinguishers
Fire Doors
Exit Doors
Emergency Lighting (6 Monthly inspection only)
Passive fire inspections
Quarterly paths of travel inspections.
Database administration
Complete site set ups and prepare asset lists.

Replacement and repair of fire extinguishers, fire doors and locks.

Repairs to passive elements of buildings where required

Assisting our electricians when on site with site set up and cleaning before and after projects.

Documentation of evacuation drawings and block plans.

Experience using inspection software, report writing and some trade experience required.

Training can be provided to the right applicant.

Part Time Wednesday to Friday
