Induction is fully paid and we also offer multiple travel reimbursements, all at significantly higher rates than you will find elsewhere. We are a registered provider for the NDIS and are looking for non-smoking support workers who are enthusiastic about helping people with disabilities achieve their life choices – either in their own home or the community. A high standard of service delivery is required and you will be well compensated for this. Our clients are located across the Sydney Metro area and as such applicants must be flexible and willing to travel to shifts.

The Role:

The purpose of the Support Worker is to assist and support participants with activities of daily living, help participants to develop skills and abilities, work with participant support animals, working with complex health, mental health and autism participant, complete light domestic duties, and provide transport. Support Workers enable participants rather than do everything for them, promoting independence and development.

Essential Criteria:

To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate the following:

Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability Work, Aged Care or equivalent qualification, or currently studying to achieve. University students studying in a relevant field are welcome to apply (e.g., paramedics, occupational therapy, social work, psychology etc.)
Able to work with participants’ pets and any other support animals they may have, including a willingness to transport them
Willing and committed to travel across the Sydney Metro area
Own reliable 4 door vehicle which is comprehensively insured. This must not be a rental vehicle.
Have completed the NDIS workers required induction module
Strong communication skills
Experience in aged care, community care, disability care, and/or youth work
Able to assist participants with showering and/or continence care, or willingness to learn
Have had previous experience working with participants who experience mental health issues
Have had experience working with autism participants
Current First Aid and CPR certificates, or willingness to obtain
Experience and/or qualifications in mental health is highly desirable
Must be able use Smart phone, computer and relevant mainstream software packages
Strong command of both oral and written English
Have a high level of problem solving
Able to work both supervised, unsupervised and part of a team
Experience with online case note recording keeping system would be an advantage
A willingness to work in situations that can be challenging,

NSW Working With Children’s Check – employed version not volunteer
Australian Federal Police Check – recent check completed within the last 3 months
Current full NSW Driver’s Licence with a clean, reliable vehicle and full comprehensive car insurance
