Job Description

• Hourly rate $30 – $35
• Location: Tomago, Newcastle, NSW
• Part time (estimated at 20 hours per week)

MGA Thermal’s mission is to revolutionise the world’s renewable energy systems by developing novel materials, designing innovative technologies, and delivering thermal energy storage solutions.

Our core technology is a recently invented type of thermal storage material, Miscibility Gap Alloys (MGA). These are capable of storing a huge amount of energy as heat, in a safe and easy to use way. Our primary focus is enabling intermittent renewable energy sources, such as the sun and wind, to provide base load electricity to the grid.

This role would be perfect for:

Specifically, the key responsibilities include:
• Data entry
• Bookkeeping
• Coding transactions to appropriate accounts and projects
• Managing personal expenses and company credit cards
• Handling accounts, both payable and receivable
• Banking, including reconciliations
• Payroll and timesheets
• Running accounting reporting
• Handling accounts related queries
• Basic financial report preparation

The applicant will complete these tasks through their informed experience, attention to detail and high level of accuracy. While the ability to communicate and collaborate with other team members will be essential, this will be an autonomous position. Due to this, the ability to self-motivate and self-start is a must. Furthermore, the role will require initiative to identify where value can be added to the business. A demonstrated ability to solve problems, and the capacity to approach work in a structured, well documented manner is necessary. Finally, it is essential for the candidate to share our team philosophy of using technology to make the world a better place.
